Setup

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Power on the BMS

When the BMS powers on, it enters a Sensor Detection Sequence. If a sensor is not detected, it emits a double beep after ~10 seconds and retries every 5 seconds. This loop continues until:

  • A sensor is detected
  • anb_utils is launched, which pauses the BMS operation

2. Launch anb_utils (Sensor not connected)

Power on your BMS, wait to hear the double beep (approximately 10s) and open anb_utils. The BMS will connect and the following will be displayed:

Set the battery's max voltage & discharge threshold

Select option 1 Modify settings and you'll be prompted to enter the battery specifications. The following will be displayed:

Battery Management System Setup

- To ensure safe operation, you must enter the correct discharge threshold voltage and maximum battery voltage for your specific battery. These values are critical for system function.
- These values can be found in the battery manufacturer’s datasheet or product label. If unsure, consult your battery supplier.

*** Warning ***

- Entering incorrect values may cause the battery to over-discharge or overcharge, potentially leading to permanent damage, unsafe operation, or unexpected shutdowns.
- ANB Sensors is not liable for any damage or issues caused by incorrect configuration. Please verify your battery specifications before entering these values.

What is the maximum battery voltage?
Enter value in volts [10.0-46.0]:

Enter the battery discharge threshold in volts?
Enter value in volts:
danger

Incorrect values can damage the battery or shut down the system unexpectedly.

Refer to the battery datasheet or consult the supplier for correct voltage settings.

Enter the correct battery settings and once confirmed, you'll return to the main menu with:

Settings updated!

The maximum voltage has been set at : 22.0V
The minimum voltage has been set at : 13.5V
The actual battery voltage is : 16.0V
