Communicate with the sensor

Download the latest anb_utils and unzip

tip

Unzip the executable to it's own directory - do not run from the zip file

Command Line Prompt

  1. Power on your sensor and open anb_utils, the following will be displayed:

Select a serial port to connect to the Sensor:

1 COM3
2 COM4
3 COM5
4 COM6

Enter Port [1-4]:
  1. Select your serial port to connect to your sensor. The main sensor details will be displayed and you will be given three options, as shown below:
Connecting to Serial Port: COM5 Baud Rate 57600

Sensor Type: AQ50
Serial Number: 300239
Current Interface Firmware Version: I9.0B
Current Driver Firmware Version: STM9.0.1
PCB Version: STM / IB

Main Menu - What would you like to do?

1 Install new Firmware
2 Download CSV Data from Sensor
3 Command Line Prompt

Enter your choice [1-3]:
tip
If your sensor is not powered when you select your serial port, or the wrong serial port is selected, the following message will be given:

Cannot get Full Sensor output.... Is sensor Turned off? Is Firmware installed?
Press Enter to continue or ctrl-c to quit

Repower your sensor and restart anb_utils

  1. Select option 3 to access the command line prompt and the sensors splash screen will be displayed:

Ensure the clock is correct

Type 'menu' to view sensor functions. Type ctrl-c to exit program.

tip

If no date/time is set i.e. System Date = 00/00/00, System Time = 00:00, the date/time will be automatically set to that of the computer.
This can be changed manually via the TIME command in the Primary Menu

  1. Typing menu will give you access to the Primary Menu and allow you to configure your sensor.
note

To use an alternative terminal program, please use the following parameters: Select speed = 57600, Data = 8bit, Parity = none, Stop bits = 1, flow control = none. All lines should be terminated with a CR.
